Took me long enough…

August 25th, 2011

Ok, so it took me a year or so to finally get my site back up and working. Lets just say that it hasn’t been a priority. I’ve had work, family and other things keeping me quite busy. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back to doing some of these things and keeping the site up to date. We shall see.

Weekend in Chicago

November 21st, 2005

I took a trip to Chicago this past weekend, with my brother Jeremy, to visit our friend Matt (aka Wookie). I’ve never been to Chicago before but it was really fun aside from the long ass, almost 6 hour drive to get there. Traffic through the city was horrible on the way in but thankfully it wasn’t bad on the way back.

Anyhow we left here at around 18:30 and arrived there at 23:30 (counting the TZ difference). We had expected to be there earlier so we ended up taking our stuff inside and going straight to a local bar where we met with some of Wookie’s friends. We spent a few hours there until close and continued for a couple more hours at Wookie’s place where we ended up sleeping.

The next day we ventured to the coffee shop Matt works at where we had a most excellent breakfast as well as met and hung out with some of his other friends. It’s a kewl little place called Beans & Bagels so if you’re ever in Chicago check it out.

From there we headed back to Wookie’s and then on to The Lobby Art Gallery to pick up his friend who is also named Matt (#2). We all checked out the opening at another gallery named NAB Gallery and then went to Matt #2′s. Back at Matt #2′s place his wife Tracy cooked up some awesome dinner for us all and we all spent the evening hanging out. We met Tracy’s friend Chelsea as well Tracy and Matt’s son Malachi. We messed around on the computer some and Wookie got little Malachi hooked on Homestarrunner. Eventually Malachi went to bed and the rest of us chatted, drank and various things until about 3 or 4 AM. We ended up crashing there at Matt and Tracy’s place.

Next day we had to get up and drive back. I’ll say it again because it did, the drive sucked.

It was definetly worth the trip though. I had a helluva fun time and hopefully I’ll get to go back and visit again before Wookie moves. I did manage a few bad pictures with the camera in my phone which you can view here.

SELinux redirect

November 10th, 2005

It has come to my attention that there is a significant number of people hitting the old selinux URL (via an old link or something I suppose). For those people who have failed to notice the new selinux link on the right and for anyone who may hit the old URL in the future I have setup a redirect that should correct the matter from now on.
